Getting The Most From The New Year

December 30, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

Hey Ya'll
It's been a hot minute since I've had the chance to write. The kids have been home on break, so I've been just relaxing, and spending time with them.
This morning I woke up, and they were still in bed so I figured it was a great time to write.

Every year most everyone makes a new year resolution. Some people follow through, other people attempt it for two weeks and then somehow it falls through. Personally I never made one because I'm that person to get swept up in life, and it falls through. This year however, I decided to try again after many years of fails, and non-participation.

Essential Oils 101: Frankincense

November 4, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

Hey Ya'll!
So if you follow me on You Tube, you've seen I started my own journey with Young Living essential oils. Now, here we are a month later, and I feel great! I've been thinking about the route I wanted to go to bring these great products to you, and I finally found something I think you'll all like.
We are going to go step-by-step, oil-by-oil, to open your mind to even more great things these oils can do.

Today we are talking about Frankincense.
Frankincense is an oil I have come to love in my beauty routine. It promotes skin health, giving you a more even skin tone, and helps with oil control. I have also noticed less breakouts. It is also great for spiritual grounding. When diffused it helps relax and give a calm environment. Immune support is a biggy in the colder months, Frankincense is perfect for that. Diffuse or apply topically for the best effect. As I'm still working on building a site. I currently take orders through my email. If you have questions or would like to order your own. Contact me via email. I can't wait to hear from you!

I want your vote! Click here to head over to my twitter and vote on which oil you want to hear about next!

Finding The Good In The Pain....

Neutrogena Rapid Clear: Oil Eliminating Foaming Cleanser

August 16, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief
Hey Ya"ll!
So a few weeks ago I had the most horrible zit on my face! I thought for a min there I was going to have to pay a guy to remove it. It was that bad! So I made a rush trip to Walmart to find that right product.

Now I don't know about you, but for me I walk into that aisle and immediately get anxiety from all the choices. It's overwhelming.
I know I need a foaming cleanser just the way my skin reacts to facial cleansers, but I was having a hard time finding one in the sea of brands. I also wanted one that would work fast since my birthday was two days away and I most definitely do not want a mountain on my chin.
After what seemed like hours my eldest pointed at the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil Eliminating Foaming Cleanser. It looked promising, saying it could keep me oil free, and rapidly clear my skin, so I snatched it up.

After two weeks of using it I must say this cleanser does exactly what it says. Within the two days my double chin was drastically diminished, and my oily skin was improved. I did notice an eczema breakout, but it wasn't anything a little Aveeno couldn't clear up quick. I think maybe just the oil elimination dried me out a bit, but it hasn't done anything drastic to my skin. I really want to try the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser next, just to see if it can eliminate completely all these little bumps I cant seem to get rid of.
Have you tried this product? I'd love to hear your experience. Leave a comment below!

Pride In Family..

July 29, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

     Hey Ya'll!
Boy I tell you I'm all in my feelings this week.
As I wind down another week, I found myself uberly productive this morning.
Two years ago I got a bag of jewelry from my family members. Some was supposed to be some of my Aunts jewelry, while the rest was supposed to be my Mamaws.
After these past two I finally was ready to go through it a few weeks ago. Searching through the bags I found a ring that I'm almost positive was my Mamaws seeing as how it was a red jewel.
Its not real. It's small and dainty, but somewhere deep down I just know it was hers.
Looking at it for the first time I could almost cry. It had been through hell. bent up, misshapen, the jewel just about ready to fall off. I put it in my jewelry box just sitting there for two weeks until I could get it fix. Until this morning, when I took another look at the ring that I knew in my heart was hers. I had some redneck rigging, but I fixed it. Carefully, and tediously bending it back into a circle.

I was a month old when my Mamaw passed. All I have of her are told stories through my Papaw, and parents. She only held me a handful of times before her time with us was through, but I am told she was very proud of me. Telling everyone about her newborn granddaughter. From all the stories and people I have met that knew her, I know she was an amazing woman. She left her trail of love and caring with everyone she knew.
This time of year is always a mixture of longing, pride, and happiness. I long to know her, to feel the love she had. Yet am happy and proud to know I have such an amazing guardian angel all these years, and for the years to come.
Today I have a finished piece on my finger. Just in time for my birthday. Something I feel is special in memory of her.
I have hope for the coming year 25 of my life.
I hope to make her proud, to have peace knowing she's here with me.

When Life Trys To Knock You Down

July 25, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief
Life lately.....
My life lately has been a whirlwind of emotions. I've been learning to deal with my new normal, and trying to figure out how to persevere through all the new challenges that we have come to face.
I'm sure on the outside I look like I've got it down. Even though yoga pants and t-shirts have become my go-to and the no makeup, un-brushed hair look is on point and all. I think to other people I look like I mentally got this down..
Well... News flash.. NOPE!
It took me 8 months to even start coping, and even now I'm struggling with my anger, and stress as we jump into this new school year.
Now adding into everything a family member is not doing so great, and the anxiety about when that time will come sits pretty close to the fore-front of my mind.
I just can't bring myself to understand why this keeps happening. What lessons are we supposed to learn from all this. I feel like I live in shit-ville where everything happens back to back to back, and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
My birthday is next week, and I'm literally like waiting for the bad to happen.. I feel almost cursed.
The only thing that literally has never happened to me is a car accident, but I feel like that's only a matter of time too. In the past year alone I've had a lot of close calls, and I kid you not only one was my fault, but I corrected quick enough to avoid.
I just wanna sit at home and eat chinese food, and sushi all day while binge watching netflix in my bed alone.
I have kids though and they depend on me.
I want to be happy and grateful and blessed, but life right now is making that super hard.
I think I just need a good corona and food.
Here's to hoping at some point soon, a purpose evolves.
Maybe we are phoenix's, and we just have to give ourselves time to rise from the ashes.

I dot the CC+ cream all over my face and use the brush to buff it in. It works perfectly for evenly distributing the cream so you don't waste a bit!
Blonde lashes like me? Can't ever get the base, and see those little blonde specks throughout the day? Well blondies, our troubles are over! You also get this amazing Tightline 3-In-1 Primer-Eyeliner-Mascara. This product cuts my get ready time in half. I just use that little magic of a wand and wiggle it at the bottom of my lashes. Voila! Eyeliner and mascara, done! A natural finish to my everyday look. For a night out I just whip on some extra mascara for a bolder finish!
With summer here most of us forget about those luscious lips until it's too late. Not anymore! For the last piece of this awesome collection you get the new Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment. This sweet little product goes on like a balm. Your lips soak up the essential oils, and butters, and your left with soft supple lips, with a flush of pink. Perfect for you day-to-day natural look!

Whats News: Kidnapped

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

Hey Ya'll
Bet you been wondering where I went to... Well I went to crazyland.
No seriously, you know how when you hear people say they got super busy, apparently that's a real thing. As some know from my previous posts, I had finally went back to college, family life got hectic, and I was swamped and stressed. I decided around Christmas to slow down on the blog to handle other things, then I just kinda stopped. Totally unknowingly actually. I have a whole list of things for the blog, just never got around to them. Well now that finals are over, the chickens (aka kiddos) are out of the coop, and summer is here, I've come to let you know...
I am alive.. I was kidnapped by aliens and taken to Mars... They were really nice but smelled a little. Haha.

On the real though I'm super sorry for that. Looking back on the semester, hell even the last year, my family and I have come a long hard journey. We have grown what I feel as closer than before, and we have many, many memories to make. That being said I am not shutting down my blog. Imma keep on truckin'. I just got to get back in a routine. Bare with me.
Life in words... uhhh hard.... worth it....
My family and I just recently got back from good ol' Minnesota. We have family up there, its always nice to visit. This time we flew, my first time on a big plane, I can't see the ground...I'm still not 100% about all that mess. I will admit though I got some good pics of God wonders so those moments the plane wasn't bumpy... not so bad.
Lots of fun, lots of food.
The trip came at the best possible time honestly. About a month ago I had some bloodwork done, just a whole work up since I don' t go to the doc often. My bloodwork come back sketchy. so I had to have a redo in thirty days, and ya'll let me tell you for a month that usually goes by so freakin' fast those were the longest nightmare days of my life! My mind went beserk thinkin of the most horrible things that couldn't even be wrong with my 24 year old body, but apparently I'm THAT morbid! Then my new tests come back perfectly fine, so I up and left the damn state. RUNAWAY!!! Haha
Now I'm back, buried in laundry.
I have a few new posts I have actually written and never posted. One of which I may schedule for later today or tomorrow so be sure to stay tuned and share away!
We have had a lot of rain in Texas. So much so that there have been lots of flash floods so please keep those affected in your prayers.

Northport Naturals Review

April 13, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief
       post button

 Hey Ya'll!
A few weeks ago I received an email from Northport Naturals wondering if I was interested in trying their products to review. After looking through their website, and knowing my struggles with eczema, and adult acne I thought why not!
Within the next week I got the mail, and the most amazing package was in it. My first thought was, "Wow that was fast!"
I immediately went home and went to work getting the information from the website on all my new products.
Northport Naturals is a organic, and cruelty-free company, based out of Michigan. They use raw organic ingredients sourced from the USA only, to make their products. They have FDA approval, and are GMP Compliant. Which if you are like, "Whaaaa?" That just means they follow all the health rules, and laws so they are a legit company!
They are organic to the core 100% . Even to their packaging, saying, "In accordance with our ‘zero waste to landfill’ operation, our packaging is as minimal as possible and is always 100% recyclable."
Now I'll be honest I'm not a total eco/organic person, but if I can buy a multipurpose product I love that! So I love that they do this with the packaging.

Healthy Skin Synergy Kit #1
This kit contains four products all with ingredients used to help acne prone skin. I think this kit is great!
The detox mask is awesome! It has a cool sensation, you can feel it suck the pores, and tighten skin. It leaves skin tight, clean feeling, and is gentle enough that my teen loves it too!
The foaming cleanser is great! It smells good,  and leaves the skin feeling super clean. You don't need a lot either so it will last.
The toner smells weird, but when applying with cotton ball it feels like it's getting deep to cleanse and tone.
The oil free moisturizer leaves soft feeling keeps skin tight. It made me still feel dry, but it might not do that for someone without eczema.
Overall I like the kit. After a few weeks of testing I noticed my skin much clearer, pores tightened, and my old acne scars beginning to fade.
In addition to my kit I also got some other goodies.

Body Milk Soufflé
This product claims to offer 12-hour hydration, and be great for eczema. This product is great! My issue with most lotions is they leave a sticky feeling, and I don't like that. However, this product gives you that hydration you need for eczema without the stickyness. It leaves a soft smooth feeling that lasts,  great for eczema! It can be used on the face too!
After a few weeks of using this product I have seen a major difference in my eczema! I have less flakey skin, which makes it sooo much easier to apply my makeup.

Ocean Mineral Serum
This serum is loaded with herbs and minerals to help in the fight again acne. I think this serum is nice .Easy to apply. It could also be used like a primer, and leaves a soft feeling.
After a few weeks of using this product after applying the toner included in the Healthy Skin Synergy Kit #1 I think it really helped get my acne controlled quicker.

Rejuvenating Enzyme Mask
This mask is great for hyper-pigmented skin, and helps with the restoration of your skin. Great for someone like me who has sun spots, acne scars, and damage after years of the "I'm invincible, and don't need sunscreen." I think this mask is my favorite. It has a different smell, but its quick and easy. It only takes minutes, and leaves skin with a nice glow.

Overall this company... provides great products for a great price. Everything I received was jam packed with product, and you only needed just a little bit. I love they stick by eco friendly and cruelty free. All the products smell ok, they have a little bit of a lemony smell, or something. They smell clean and fresh.

IT Cosmetics has done IT again!
Today only they have released the Bye Bye Collection on QVC.
In this collection you get five pieces of IT Cosmetics gold!

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination
This product gives the same awesome creaseless coverage, with new drops of light technology. Giving you a brighter under eye. I love this because it makes me look more awake. Which is great for the day after my late night study crams.
Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder
This product is amazing! I have large pores, but with this product I sweep it on my face, and they instantly disappear. Leaving me with a porcelain smooth face. It's light and leaves a soft, silky, veil.
Bye Bye Pores Blush
This blush is so pigmented, and just like the pressed powder blurs any pores you have without clogging them. I love this! especially now that it's springtime. You get perfect flawless skin, with the perfect rosy cheeks.
Bye Bye Pores Powder Brush
This brush is the perfect tool for that heavenly angel perfect face. It perfectly applies the right amount of product and spreads it evenly all over your face. It feels like soft feathers as your sweep it across your face. I found it's also perfect for the perfect contour too.
Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm
This product I couldn't rave enough about. My biggest issue with makeup is at the end of the day I'm too tired for the long process of taking it off. But, I have too, because no one wants the dreaded mountain on your face the next day. This product fixes all that and more. It does everything its title says. It even removes stubborn waterproof mascara in a snap. Plus, A little goes a long way, and it comes in a tub, so you definitely get your moneys worth!

Life and College

February 8, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

Ok first thing I'll say is screw algebra! You wanna take a good girl down give her equations and make her factor them! Seriously though, it's week four and I'm so over it.

Osmosis of an egg.. EWWW

Then there's the moments your computer won't upload your paper file correctly so your biology teacher takes ten dang points off! Like what the heck! I can't help it if the file type you wanted doesn't work so I found an alternative for YOU!
Anyway past all that, college is legit this semester. I made an egg gross, and had to workout this past week. Yea, I had to actually get up from my mound of twinkie's and work out. Haha
It was just steps though, but it felt like my middle school athletics coach tellin' me to do bleachers. I completed that last Monday, and I'm still sore. Sad I know.

My husband, and I get our taxes done as soon as we can every year, business, and all. We are done.... algebra didn't help.

One of my Minnesota cousins became a personal trainer, Lord help me if she reads this.. she opened her own website and facebook page you should check it out and if your in her area you should call her up! She's awesome!

One day I'll get over this horrid cold I've had for like a month. I can't wait to wake up without my throat dry, and scratchy.

As soon as I can I'll get back to a blogging schedule. For me, and I'm sure most of you understand, I've waited, and put off my education for long enough and it is VERY important for me to achieve my goals. So family, and school come first.

Anyway back to my the grind... Equations are callin' me!

IT Cosmetics: New Year, Your Most Beautiful Skin Collection

January 16, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief
       post button

Hey Ya'll!
So I have to tell ya'll about one of the newest releases from IT Cosmetics.
As you all know everything I receive is tested fully before I blog it. Seeing as how I was swamped this week getting ready for college to start back next week, I decided to test these products on none other than my beautiful mother.
A few weeks ago my mother texted me asking me about some anti-aging products, or makeup. I knew this package was in the mail so I immediately knew I had to get her using IT Cosmetics. It was a win win!
Luckily the day it came, I was headed over to mom's house. We had a little makeup party, and I showed her how to use all the products. I told her to test them this week and let me know.. So without further adieu these are her thoughts on the IT Cosmetics: New Year, Your Most Beautiful Skin 6-Piece Collection.

CC+ Veil Cushion Compact Foundation With Refill Cartridge
"This make-up feels really good on my skin. It's so smooth, it feels natural. I will definitely buy more of this!"

This foundation comes as a compact. The package is thicker than the powder compact. When you open it there is a sponge inside that holds your foundation. Application is super easy, you just push your applicator down into the sponge, and apply the foundation. It's one step, but multi-function providing coverage, SPF 50+, anti-aging serum, moisturizer, and primer.
When asked, "On a scale 1-10, 10 being full coverage, how good does this foundation cover?"
My mother replied, "A 10 easy!"
Blurred Lines Lipstick in Je Ne Sais Quoi

This one was another one of my mom's favorites.
When I first put it on her, her face lit up. It was the perfect finish for her look.
"Oh, I like this color, and look, you can't see many lines."

This lipstick comes in a cute little package. In just one swipe you can notice a difference, a perfect shade of pink,  as it blurs fine lines,  while giving hydrating moisture.
CC+ Cream Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi

"Great color. I like how it's buildable."

Whether you want light pink cheeks, or you want that extra color, this blush is perfect. If your going from a powder blush to this cream blush it takes some getting used to, but once you do it is the perfect finish to your foundation routine!
Angled Radiance Cream Brush and the Heavenly Luxe Dual Ended Brush

"Super soft, and help blend the harsh lines"

I've already blogged bout the dual ended brush I received a while back here, and trust me its still amazing!
However, this was my first time using the angled cream brush, and I must say I love it! My mom, and I have high cheekbones so it's really great for getting the color from the blush right where I want it.
This product debuts, January 16, 2016 on QVC. It's a one day only sale!

Top 5 Favorites: College Edition

January 11, 2016

Jaimie Rogers Editor in Chief

Happy Monday Ya'll!!
So today I thought I'd mix it up a bit, and bring you a Top 5 Favorites. If it goes good I may make it a mini-series, but for today, it's College Edition.
I'm going to share with you my top must haves, and where to find them for the college student.
Excuse the no-makeup face.
First on my list is an absolute need for any student. I take online courses right now so obviously a computer is a need! I recently bought a new computer, and absolutely LOVE it!
The HP Pavilion X360 is a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet. Whether your sitting in a lecture or sitting in the commons. It's a easy, portable, and stylish piece of equipment, so you can do your best work! The touch screen makes it 10x easier than before. I got mine for a super great price off I bought mine in the color purple. The color is just as I thought it would be. I needed a brighter color so it wouldn't blend into my desk, or backpack.
Now I received it within a few days, I tracked it the whole time I was so excited. When I got it I turned it on, and got an error message about the cooling fan being broken. I was bummed, but immediately contacted HSN. They took no time at all to call me, and told me to flip my packaging receipt over, and drop it off at UPS. We did, it was the day before Christmas. and a new one arrived on the 30th. It was ahead of schedule according to the tracker, and was perfect! I haven't been without it since!
My second must have is a great backpack! I searched and searched, but couldn't find one I liked, or that would fit my needs at the local stores. So I entrusted handy Amazon Student account, and finally found one. It was cheap enough I just ordered it, plus if I didn't like it amazon has a great return policy that's super easy.
Now if you don't know about Amazon Student let me fill you in. If you have a .edu email. You just sign up with that email through amazon and you get free prime membership for 6 months! Plus a few other goodies that a prime membership offers!
Anywho, back to the backpack. I ordered it, and got it two days later. I'll be honest I was shocked. This backpack was everything I expected it to be and more! It had more pockets than I thought it would have, it was put together very sturdy, and it was super comfortable even loaded with lots of books. In my test run with it I loaded five big hardback college books, my laptop, pencil bag, phone, chargers, and wallet. I jumped up and down, walked around for about 30 min, and I actually cleaned toilets with it on. It held up impeccably. This is the one I ordered, but if blue polka dots, and lace isn't your thing, the Leaper brand has plenty of other choices. Just look up the keyword "Leapers cute backpacks", and you get more choices.
Number three on my list is something no college student can ever get away from. Even if you never have before, when you start college, you will now. Coffee! I know, I know, so overrated for my post, but seriously. When it's 11 P.M. and your paper is due at midnight, but your eyes are closing themselves on you. Yea, your gonna wish you had that hot cup of Folgers in your cup. And I'll say FOLGERS again. I always buy just what ever is cheap that week for my regular coffee but for those late nights. You don't skimp. I get those off amazon too. You can find them here. They are cheaper to have shipped, and you can make a subscription with some orders, and they will auto order for you so you never have to worry about forgetting and running out. I also have a super awesome recipe I wrote about here if your interested in changin it up from the regular coffee routine.
My fourth must have is much needed even if you were at home. For a regular student, your in the commons, and everyone is chit-chatting, but your trying to watch a video for your class, or listen to music to concentrate. As for me my kids are running around screaming, shooting nerf-guns, and even with the door closed that video is just so low I can't hear. So I grab my baby blue yurbuds and plug em in! These buds and designed to fit in your canal to stay put, and help reduce noise. They come in a handy carrying case, and the backs magnetize to each other to reduce tangling. They can be a bit pricey, but are worth every penny. They are great for that after hours trip to the gym too, as they were designed for working out. I bought mine on the site here, but I found some on amazon here.
My final fave is this little lovely here. I honestly can't sit at a table for hours, and write a paper. I need to be comfy so usually I sit on my couch, like now. This lap desk is a must have. I haven't bought one yet but its definitely on my wishlist. I really like blue, so this color would be great!

Have I told you lately how much I am in L.O.V.E with It Cosmetics.
Time, and time again this brand goes above and beyond with their products. I don't think I will ever return to the days of twelve different brands on my face. It Cosmetics is IT for me.

As most of you know the company occasionally sends me their newest releases for me to try. This go round they sent me my most favorite ever! I know I say that a lot, but I'm a sucker for some lashes. I ain't talkin about any fake ones either.
What if I told you, you could get big, bold, long, beautiful lashes, with one tube of mascara.

Introducing It Cosmetics new Superhero Mascara!
